Our Business Center stands as a testament to the rich cultural heritage of the parish. Once abandoned for 16 years, the building has been designated a ‘cultural heritage’ site by the National Institute of Cultural Heritage (INPC). This recognition highlights the structure’s historical, architectural, and cultural significance, underscoring the need for preservation and restoration.
Yadira Alarcón and Richard Lee recognized the potential of the neglected Vilcabamba Business Center and committed to its restoration. Their dedication culminated in an impressive eight-month renovation project led by architect Daniel Eguiguren and engineer Eduardo Eguiguren. Together, they focused on restoring the building’s essence while incorporating modern amenities that cater to the present-day community.
On November 15, 2023, the Vilcabamba community celebrated the grand opening of the revitalized building with an open house. The newly renovated space has been designed to accommodate digital nomads, offering high-speed internet, a professional office environment, and a secure storage solution with lockable drawers. Additionally, the center features a welcoming coffee and tea station, monitored security, and a spacious balcony, making it an ideal venue for both work and relaxation.
Today, the Vilcabamba Business Center is not just a building; it is a proud symbol of the community’s heritage and future. With its modern features, it is set to become a focal point for local professionals and travelers alike.
